Vegas, Baby

Gregory & I went to Las Vegas for a week to celebrate our 16th anniversary. Isn't that cool?
This is the view from our hotel room. We stayed at the Bellagio. (*squeals with joy*)
The pools were so beautiful! I actually don't know how many pools there were, but we always made sure we got some lounge chairs near a bar.
This is another really pretty hotel, The Monte Carlo. We saw a magic show here one night. Fun.
Cruisin' down the Strip.
There is an elevator in that giant Coca-cola bottle.
Cheers, Vegas!
We went to the Harley-Davidson shop to get a few gifts for my dad, who was kind enough to stay at our house and look after the kids while we were in Las Vegas.
You are the best, Dad, Love you!
No firearms? Great. Now what the heck am I going to do with my Bazooka?
Hog Heaven.
Greg really liked the... bikes. Right, Honey?

Vegas at night

This is the view from our hotel room at the Bellagio.
Fountain show at the Bellagio and Paris Hotel behind.
Very cool
We had just been to a magic show and were just walking around.
I was looking at the" statue of liberty" at New York.
Can you imagine their electric bill?
This was our last night in Las Vegas. Bye-bye Vegas.

Picasso Perfection

Gregory made reservations at "Picasso" restaurant at our hotel to celebrate our anniversary.
Great idea, Honey. We started off with some champagne, 'bien sur'.
We both had the 'Menu Degustation'. with the wine pairing.
Check out the butter that came with the bread. This was an 'amuse bouche' of chilled leek soup and on the side is half a quail's egg, caviar, lox with mascarpone cheese. Phew. That was quite the mouthful! (Literally)First course:
Maine Lobster Salad
Apple-Champagne Vinaigrette.
Second course:
Pan Seared Sea Scallop
Potato Mousseline and Jus de Veau.
Let's pause these sights of gastronomic delights (hey, that rhymes) and look out the window. Yes, that's a sunset and yes, those are the fountains doing their thing at the Bellagio. No, that is not the Eiffel Tower.
Third course:
Sauteed "A" Steak of Foie Gras
Obtuse Poached Cherries on PX Gelee and Crushed Almonds
(well, la dee da!)
If I tried to describe how delicious this was, I would probably start to weep.
It was absolutely Divine.
Gregory's main course:
Sauteed filet of halibut
Ragout of corona beans, serrano ham, vegetables and mushrooms
My main course:
Loin of Lamb Roti
Fricassee of half Moon Bay Petits pois
Cappuccino, coffee. Ah, what a perfect night...
Wow! Dessert.
Mayan Chocolate and Coffee Ruins
Coffee Caramel and Coffee Crema Semifreddo
Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream
What the...? I could not possibly even nibble one of these beautiful pastries.
We asked them to wrap them up for us.
They also gave us this little box full of palmiers to take with us.
The restaurant had several original Picasso Paintings hanging on the walls. This is one of them.

Grand Canyon

Gregory and I took a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, while on Vacation in Vegas.
This is where Vegas gets all of their water. The water is such a beautiful colour.Ah, the Hoover Dam. It's amazing to think about all the engineering that went into this project.
The Grand Canyon...
goes on..
and on. It's quite impressive. Grand even.
This was pretty awesome. The pilot landed the chopper, and we could get out and check out the Grand Canyon, Colorado River, etc, and then we had some Champagne and lunch before returning to Vegas.
Cheers, Honey.
Flying back. You can see the Vegas strip in the distance.
Getting closer.
Can you see the fountains at the Bellagio?

Sailing in the Bahamas

Gregory, Felicity, and Eva spent 2 weeks in the Bahamas, sailing on Grandma's boat; a 42 foot catamaran.
Yes, Felicity, we are jealous.
BahamasInside this little church in the Bahamas are statues of St Joan of Arc (Eva's patron saint) and St Felicity (who Felicity is named after). Neat.Life is good.
Here is Eva and Captain Mike on a ZodiacFelicity on the boat.
Gregory & Eva snorkeling.
The girls saw dolphins, sea turtles, and lots of other amazing little fish and sea life.
Gregory even stared a shark in the eyes after cutting his finger on a sea urchin. *yikes*
Eva & Felicity with their grandmother.
Thank you Margaret & Mike, for sharing your boat, and also for showing everyone such a great time. This is one of those trips that the girls will remember forever.
