Eva's 14th birthday

Happy birthday, Eva!
Cool! Eva got a new outfit for dirt biking.
To celebrate, we all went to Japanese Village restaurant.
Hey, girls, having fun?
The kids all had some fancy drinks while the grown ups enjoyed some Saki and Japanese beer. The food was great, and we were all quite entertained by the chef. I hope you had a good time, Eva. Love you!

scallops and risotto

Gregory made another fabulous meal. Don't these scallops look good?
The scallops were served with a mushroom risotto and a tomato salad. For wine we had a lovely French rose.
For dessert I made strawberry shortcake with whipped cream and a fresh peach coulis.
After dinner Trinity was showing Tatabun her abacus.

July 3rd 2008

July 3rd was our wedding anniversary and I made a special dinner to celebrate.
The children were helping out by setting the table and making sure everything looked nice.
Hi, Heather.
Tom wants some dinner.
Felicity made dessert.
To start off the meal I made individual smoked cheddar soufflés in phyllo pastry served on a salad. These are so incredibly delicious.
Of course we had champagne, too.
I can't believe it, but I forgot to take a picture of the main dish! Oh well, it was braised beef ribs and mashed potatoes. Amazingly good.
Eva made chocolate fudge cake with chocolate ganache, and Felicity made the raspberry gelato.
Thank you Felicity and Eva, it was the perfect dessert for our anniversary.

Bamberton beach

Back in June, Heather & Grace both had a field trip to Bamberton beach with their classes. Trinity and I came along too.
Heather, Grace and Trinity. Even though it was June, it was still really cold. Are you building a sand castle, Heather?
Gracie found this little crab under a rock. Neat.

Happy Father's Day, Gregory

Felicity, Eva, Mary, Thomas, Heather, Grace and Trinity have the best dad!
Oooh, prezzies!
Just what a father of seven needs...beer!
After church we had a nice lunch at home.
Chocolate chestnut torte with homemade chestnut ice cream. Yummy.

Sophia Charlotte Marie

God bless you, Sophia Charlotte Marie Suciu!
Gregory and I are so happy to be Godparents for little Sophia.
Proud parents, Dominic and Irina. Congratulations. The baptism ceremony was very beautiful and Sophia was so calm and content. She is a lovely baby.
While we were in Seattle for the baptism, we went for a nice walk with Dominic and the children by the ocean. Trinity and Cecelia share a common interest in all things cute, pink, and sparkly, and therefore get along great.
Yikes! I nearly had a heart attack when I saw Gregory and Trinity climbing on this tree, which is right over a cliff! It is hard to appreciate the freakiness of the situation from this picture, but trust me, it was freaky!

Great wall of China

Gregory made a delicious stir-fry with lots of veggies and prawns.
Everyone loved it, and had fun using their kiddie chopsticks, too.
Mary Margaret digs in.
After dinner Greg and I decide to try this Chinese liquor that a friend gave us.
Gregory mixes it with some pomegranate and green tea juice. I am calling it "The Great Wall of China Martini".
Trinity joins us, but is just having the juice. Smart girl!Cheers!

building a catapult

Thomas and Gregory were busy building a wooden catapult that Thomas got for his birthday.
Mary is checking out their progress. How is it going, Greg?
After a lot of patience, and glue...it is done. Awesome job, guys.

Love you, Trinity.

We celebrated Trinity's birthday on Trinity Sunday, which is a movable feast day in the Catholic church. Her real birthday is Christmas day.
To celebrate we had vanilla cake with strawberry ice cream and a chocolate butterfly given by Felicity.

Mother's Day 2008

This is me and my mum, about to enjoy the pineapple cheesecake that I made for Mother's Day. May 11th, 2008. That was a great night. Love you, Mum.
